Mark Schondorf, Esq.
I have counseled clients in over a hundred divorce, paternity, child custody and child support cases, including trials and contested hearings. I gained my divorce experience at a large divorce firm in downtown Chicago, representing business owners, professionals, and high income/high net worth individuals.
I graduated from Georgetown University with a degree in finance, which makes me different than almost all other divorce attorneys because I understands complicated financial matters. Most divorce attorneys will not understand business valuations, close corporations, unique investment structures, and retirement assets. I understand tax returns, income statements, balance sheets, and business appraisals that leave most family law attorneys confused.
Practical Trial Experience
I earned my law degree from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, California and scored top marks in Loyola's renowned trial advocacy curriculum. After graduating in 2006 and passing the California bar exam, I opened my practice in Los Angeles, California. I took numerous cases to trial before judges and juries for his own clients, or for other attorneys, in business, real estate, employment, and injury cases. Further, one of my first cases became a published appellate opinion which was positively cited by dozens of other cases and courts. (See Profit Concepts Management v. Griffith, 76 Cal. Rptr. 3d 396 (Cal: Court of Appeals, 4th Appellate Dist., 3rd Div. 2008).
Focus on Family
I moved to Illinois in 2011 to raise a family of my own, and now lives with his wife and two children in the northern suburbs of Chicago. As a father and husband, I understand how important it is for a parent to have a close relationship with his or her children, and how a divorce can and will change ever aspect of a person's life.
